The Academy of Music Theatre invites you to join the cast of our 2025 Winter Youth Musical Production: DISNEY’S Frozen JR! 

Do you want to build a snowman? You’ll love this fanciful and heartwarming stage adaptation of the top-grossing animated film of all time! Join Anna, Elsa, and all of your favorite characters as they embark on an epic, ice-filled journey of self-discovery, camaraderie, and the real meaning of true love. Adapted for young performers, this musical includes favorite Frozen songs such as “Love Is an Open Door,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?,” and “Let It Go,” as well as wonderful new songs from the Broadway production. With its empowering message of love and understanding, Frozen JR. is sure to melt your heart!

This program is open to performers between the ages of 9 and 16 of all experience levels in performance! This production will be a fast-paced rehearsal process aimed to develop and grow skills of artistic expression, self-confidence, and collaborative teamwork in theatre arts.

There are 2 separate sessions/casts for Frozen JR.: a Mon/Wed Session and Tues/Thurs Session.

Both sessions rehearse January through March on different days of the week, and will each have two performances the weekend of March 19 – 21, 2026. The cast / program that you register for is the cast that you will rehearse and perform with. Swapping/trading casts/performances with other participants will not be allowed. You must commit and be available for the cast session that you register for.

      • March 16 Rehearsal will be from 5pm – 7:30pm
      • March 18 Rehearsal will be from 4:30pm – 7pm

Financial Information

  • Tuition of $435 + $15 registration fee = $450 total cost for the program. 
    • Tuition helps cover costs of props and costumes and hiring professional artists to direct and design for this show.
    • The cost of a cast t-shirt is also included in tuition.
    • The $15 registration fee covers Academy of Music administration and production costs prior to rehearsals, as well as any processing and convenience provided by Dance Studio Pro.
  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration through Dance Studio Pro.
  • Refund Protocol: The $15 registration fee in addition to 50% of tuition ($217.50) is considered a deposit to claim your spot and is non-refundable.
  • No refunds will be given after December 19, 2025. 

Registration 

  • Registration will go live on September 5,  2025, @10:00AM. Spots fill up quickly, so don’t wait! 
    • Registration is through Dance Studio Pro. You will need to create an account for you and your child to register.
    • All who register will be cast in the show.
  • A Parent/Student Forms Packet will be emailed to you prior to rehearsals beginning. Please review, sign, and return all of its contents before the audition. 
  • If registration is full you can still sign up for the wait list in case a spot opens up for you. You will be notified via email if a spot opens for you.

Auditions

  • Auditions for both casts will take place on the morning of December 29, 2025. Specific times and details will be sent after registration. 
  • If you are unavailable to audition in person on December 29, please contact education@aomtheatre.com immediately to set up a video audition or make other arrangements. 
    • Video auditions will be due by December 23, 2025.
    • In auditions, you will learn a short dance combo and perform a one minute solo vocal audition.
    • **Everyone who is registered will be cast in the show!**

Vocal Audition

  • Please prepare to sing a 1 minute audition cut of a Musical Theatre song in the style of the show.  
  • Prepare to sing with a karaoke track that you’ve practiced with. 
    • Karaoke tracks can be readily found on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify. Please no tracks with voices. 
    • You can bring this ready to go on your own device, or you can send it in advance to education@aomtheatre.com. 
  • There will be no live pianist for this audition.

Dance Audition

  • Dance auditions will happen during your audition group time. 
  • You will be taught a short combination of dance and perform it for the directing team. 
    • Come wearing appropriate attire  for dance with your hair pulled away from your face. 
    • Come to the audition with your body warmed up and ready to move and dance.

Callbacks

  • Everyone who is registered and auditions will receive a callback time as well. 
  • Callbacks will take place in the morning / early afternoon of Saturday, January 3, 2026, between 9am and 3pm.
    • Callback times are assigned at random. Let us know if there are windows of time you are not available by emailing education@aomtheatre.com.
    • If you are unable to make the January 3 callbacks, please notify us before auditions on December 29 in advance by emailing education@aomtheatre.com and we will make other arrangements.
  • Callback material will be sent out after auditions. (This will be a short section of a song or dialogue from the show.) 
    • Students are asked to learn and prepare their callback material to the best of their ability prior to their callback time. 
    • Callbacks will be in short sessions with the cast member and the directing team.
  • A cast list will be sent via email before the first rehearsal.  

Rehearsals

  • Rehearsals will take place from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
    • Most rehearsals will be at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, though some may be held at Down Right Studios in Florence. Specific dates will be shared in advance via email; please be sure to check your email frequently for these communications. 
    • A detailed rehearsal calendar will be shared after auditions based on the conflicts you have shared prior to rehearsals starting. (Conflict calendar is part of the Parent/Student Forms Packet).
  • Not everyone will be needed and called to all rehearsals. There is a weekly email with the specific schedule and other updates.
  • Everyone who registers must be able to attend at least the majority of all rehearsals, and must be available for all rehearsals the last three weeks of the program (March 2 – 21, 2026).
    • Missing rehearsals may result in not being in certain songs and scenes or having certain parts reassigned. We want everyone to have as much stage time as possible, but rehearsal time is very limited and there may not be enough time in the process to re-teach material that is missed. Thank you for understanding.
  • Swapping/trading casts/performances with other participants will not be allowed. You must commit and be available for the cast session that you register for.

ABOUT THE SHOW

All of London is barking about this 30 minute musical version of the classic Disney animated feature 101 Dalmatians. Join Roger, Anita, Pongo, Perdita, and their pups as they race their way through madcap adventures and thwart the villainous Cruella De Vil. Adapted especially for young performers, this musical includes favorite Disney songs including “Cruella De Vil” and “Dalmatian Vacation.” 

This production is open to kids ages 6 – 9 of any level of experience in performing arts. This process is focused towards younger ages to have an introductory experience in the joys and development of skills that come with being in a musical theatre production.

REHEARSALS

  • 5:00pm – 6:30pm (90 minutes) 
  • Performance October 24th, 2025 at the Academy of Music Theatre
  • Most rehearsals are located at the Academy of Music in Northampton with some rehearsals being held at Down Right Studios in Florence.
  • ​Everyone who registers should be available for at least the majority of rehearsals, and MUST be able to attend all rehearsals in the final two weeks and the performance itself.

AUDITIONS

    • September 2nd – In rehearsal the kids will all learn a group dance and a short singing solo (A specific audition cut will be shared prior to the program starting).
    • September 4th – All of the kids will perform the dance learned on the 2nd and sing the audition cut in small groups.
      • Kids will be invited to step forward and sing the audition cut on their own. 
      • Not everyone needs to sing the audition cut alone – it is to hear who is comfortable with having a solo singing role.   
      • Roles will be decided by the directing team after this rehearsal and shared to the cast via email before the next rehearsal that takes place on September 9th.
    • Everyone who is registered will be cast in the show.  

FINANCIAL INFO 

  • Tuition of $410 + $15 Registration Fee = $425 total cost for the program. 
  • Tuition helps cover costs of props and costume pieces, and also in hiring professional theatre artists and teachers to direct and design for this show. 
  • Cost of a show cast T-Shirt is included in tuition. All cast members will receive and perform the show in their show T-Shirt.
