Based on the stories by A. A. Milne and the 2011 Disney animated feature film, including songs by Frozen songwriting team Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez. This 30 minute musical about a silly ole bear and his friends in the Hundred Acre Wood has been adapted and created for young performers.

This production is open to kids ages 6 – 9 of any level of experience in performing arts. This process is focused towards younger ages to have an introductory experience in the joys and development of skills that come with being in a musical theatre production.

AGES 

  • Kids ages 6 – 9 
  • Must be at least the age of 6 before September 1st, 2024. 

REHEARSALS

  • Rehearsals Tuesdays & Thursdays 
  • September 3rd – October 24th, 2024
  • 5:00pm – 7:00pm
  • ​Everyone who registers should be available for at least the majority of rehearsals, and MUST be able to attend all rehearsals in the final two weeks and the performance itself. 
  • Missing rehearsals may result in not being in certain songs and scenes. We want everyone to have as much stage-time as possible, but there isn’t enough time in the process to always be able to re-teach material that was missed. Thank you for understanding.
  • Most rehearsals are located at the Academy of Music in Northampton with some rehearsals being held at Pine Box Studios in Florence.

AUDITIONS

FINANCIAL INFO 

  • Tuition of $375 + $15 Registration Fee = $390 total cost for the program. 
  • Tuition helps cover costs of props and costume pieces, and also in hiring professional theatre artists and teachers to direct and design for this show. 
  • Cost of a show cast T-Shirt is included in tuition. All cast members will receive and perform the show in their show T-Shirt. 
  • $15 Registration Fee covers Academy of Music administration and production costs prior to rehearsals, as well as any processing and convenience provided by Dance Studio Pro. 
  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration through Dance Studio Pro. 
  • Refund Policy: The $15 registration fee in addition to 50% of tuition ($187.50) is considered a deposit to claim your spot and is non-refundable. 
  • No refunds will be given after September 1st, 2024.

  • Tech/Dress rehearsals March 10th – 12th, 2025
  • Performances There will be 2 performances for this cast taking place the weekend of March 13th, 2025. 
  • $425 per child

*All who are registered will be cast in the show.

This musical adaptation of the Disney Pixar animated feature film has a charming score by the Frozen song writing team, Robert Lopez & Kristen Anderson-Lopez. Originally a stage show performed in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, it’s now a 60 minute musical adapted for young performers!

This program is open to performers between the ages of 9 and 16 of all experience levels in performance! This production will be a fast-paced rehearsal process aimed to develop and grow skills of artistic expression, self-confidence, and collaborative teamwork in theater arts.

AGES 

  • Youth ages 9 – 16 
  • Must be at least the age of 9 before January 1st, 2025 

REGISTRATION 

  • Registration will go live on September 1st, 2024. 
  • Registration is through Dance Studio Pro. You will need to create an account for you and your child to register. 
  • A Parent/Student Forms Packet will be emailed to you prior to rehearsals beginning. Please review, sign, and return all of its contents before the audition.

  • All who register will be cast in the show.
  • Spots fill up quickly, so don’t wait!
  • If registration is full you can still sign up for the wait list in case a spot opens up for you. 
    • You will be notified via email if a spot opens for you.

AUDITIONS

  • Auditions will take place in the evening of Thursday January 2nd, 2025
  • If you are unavailable to audition in person on January 2nd, please contact [email protected] upon registering to set up a video audition or make other arrangements. 
    • Video auditions will be due on January 1st, 2025. 
  • In auditions you will learn a short dance combo and perform your solo vocal audition. 
  • **Everyone who is registered will be cast in the show**

VOCAL AUDITION

  • Please prepare to sing a 1 minute audition cut of a Musical Theatre song in the style of the show.  
  • Prepare to sing with a karaoke track that you’ve practiced with. 
  • Karaoke tracks can be readily found on YouTube, Apple Music, and Spotify. Please no tracks with voices. 
  • You can bring this ready to go on your own device, or you can send it in advance to [email protected]
  • There will be no live pianist for this audition.

DANCE AUDITION

  • Dance auditions will happen during your audition group time. 
  • You will be taught a short combination of dance and perform it for the directing team. 
  • Come wearing appropriate attire  for dance with your hair pulled back out of your face. 
  • Come to the audition with your body warmed up and ready to move and dance.

CALLBACKS 

  • Everyone who is registered and auditions will receive a callback time as well. 
  • Callbacks will take place in the morning / early afternoon of Saturday January 4th, 2025. 
  • Callback times are assigned at random. Let us know if there are windows of time you cannot make for Saturday January 4th between 9am and 3pm.
  • Callback material will be sent out after auditions. (A short section of a song or dialogue from the show.) 
  • Students are asked to learn and prepare their callback material to the best of their ability prior to their callback time. 
  • Callbacks will be in short sessions with the cast member and the directing team.
  • In the callback sessions the student will perform the callback material that they were asked to prepare. 
  • Please notify in advance if you are not available for callbacks on January 6th so we can make other arrangements.
  • A cast list will be sent via email before the first rehearsal on January 7th, 2025.  

REHEARSALS 

  • Rehearsals start January 7th, 2025. 
  • Rehearsals are on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
  • Rehearsals take place from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
  • Most rehearsals will be at the Academy of Music Theatre in Northampton, though some may be held at Pinebox Studios in Florence. Specific dates will be shared in advance. 
  • **Not everyone will be needed and called to all rehearsals.**
  • A detailed rehearsal calendar will be shared after auditions based on the conflicts you have shared prior to rehearsals starting. (Conflict calendar is part of the Parent/Student Forms Packet).
  • ***Everyone who registers must be able to attend at least the majority of all rehearsals, and be available for all rehearsals the last two weeks of the program (February 27th – March 6th) AND both performance dates (March 7th & 8th). ***

DRESS / TECH REHEARSALS 

  • Dress & Tech Rehearsals will take place March 10th, 11th, & 12th, 2025.
  • **Missing rehearsals may result in not being in certain songs and scenes or having certain parts reassigned. We want everyone to have as much stage-time as possible, but there isn’t enough time in the process to always be able to re-teach material that is missed. Thank you for understanding.

PERFORMANCES

  • This show will have two performances taking place the weekend of March 13th, 2025. Exact performance dates and times will be announced prior to the program starting in January.

  • Tuition helps cover costs of props and costumes and hiring professional artists to direct and design for this show. The cost of a cast T-Shirt is also included in tuition.
